Shawn Scott Cone passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008 in San Antonio at the age of 37. Shawn was born on January 24, 1971 in Chandler, Arizona. He is survived by his father, Richard Leslie Cone, Sr. and his wife Bernice Cone; mother, Conny Lee Cone; daughter, Amanda Leigh Cone; brothers, Ricky Cone, Clinton Adcock, and Clayton Adcock; sister, Melissa Shadrock; nieces, Courtney Shadrock, Myranda Smith, Destiny Adcock, Montana Adcock and Amity Adcock; nephews, Hunter Shadrock and Dalton Cone; and close family friend Arlene Feehan. Shawn had a passion for cooking and was an excellent chef but his greatest love in life was for his daughter, Amanda. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Boldtville Presbyterian Church, 6631 Sulpher Springs Road, San Antonio, Texas.

To the Family of Shawn: I am expressing my deepest sympathy to you, it is always hard to lose a loved one. I knew Shawn for a short time, but those times were fun, sincere,special. Shawn had a heart of Gold, he touched mine and my 2 children. Shawn will be missed dearly. We have alot of fun and great memories of Shawn. I just want you all to know my prayers go out to all of you,it was a pleasure to know all of you. I never got the chance to meet His daughter, Amanda, Amanda i want you to know that your dad loved you so much, he talked so highly of you and was so proud of his baby girl. He always wanted to find away to see you. Dont forget how special you are to your dad. To end this: Shawn always talked highly of his family no matter the situation. He shared alot of his inner feelings with me when he became hard on his luck. We did share alot of the same interests, that’s what made us click. We(I) will miss Shawn so very much. Conny & Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I’ve known Shawn since 6th grade. He was a sweetheart. I know there are no words that can ease your pain. I too am having a hard time with the loss of a child. If there is anything you need PLEASE CALL ME. I know of a few wonderful support that we have reached out to help deal with the pain of losing a child. I do believe that Shawn will always be with you and that he is no longer suffering. My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry. I think of shawn as a young boy. His twinkling eyes, his smile, and his “trademark” hair. Of course he was so spirited. There was never a boring or dull moment. He would make me laugh so hard! He was such a cute boy. So, all american! That’s how I will always remember him. To the Cone Family, I want to wish my condolences, and am so sorry to hear of your loss. Shawn was very special to me and my children. Shawn had a passion for children, had much love to give. We had many great times together, lots of wonderful memories. Like someone else said, there was never a dull moment when it came to Shawn. He made me laugh, smile and made me feel human. He had a great sense of humor. He had an extreme passion for love when it came to his daughter, Amanda.You said he had a passion for cooking, well when he was here with me (us), he never cooked a meal, he said he was too spoiled by my cooking. He could make one heck of a Sub sandwich. Shawn had alot of wonderful qualities about him,the twinkle and passion in his eyes, his sincerity, that’s what attracted me to him . He had much respect for his dad, he told me if he could ,he would change everything he put his family through.
