Shirley Ann Benson

Shirley A. Benson, 75, went to be with the Lord March 31, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born August 15, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Phineas and Labittie Raymond. Shirley was quiet and reserved, but always made sure to speak her mind. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and going out to play Bingo. Shirley also enjoyed knitting and making blankets for her family.

Her greatest gift in life were her daughters and grandchildren. Shirley will be dearly missed by her family and friends she made along the way.

She is preceded in death by parents, Phineas and Labittie Raymond and siblings, Willie Downer and Phineas Raymond Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Michelle A. Moffett, Renée Yvonne Benson, and Char LaVett Yates and her husband, Vincent Yates; former son-in-law, Derrick Rivers; grandchildren, Vatasha Moffett, Latisha Moffett, Tony Moffett Jr., Clarra Rogers, Michael Armstrong.

Chardonnay Green and Quiar Green; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, DeAnthony, Mya, Neveah, Nyla, Miracle, Caleb, Knoble, Johnathan Jr., Legend, Taylor, Cyrie and Analjah; siblings, Eugene Raymond and Betty Garbutt; extended family and friends.
