Stacey Marie Prater was born on July 22, 1967 in San Antonio, Texas and has lived in San Antonio all of her life. Stacey went to South San West Campus High school and attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Childhood Education and Liberal Arts. Stacey loved children and enjoyed spending time and working with them. Stacey was active in church activities and believed so much in God, our Lord Jesus. Stacey had the following handwritten note posted on her wall by her bed. "The will of God will not take you where the grace of God will not protect you". "We are closest to a blessing when we face the biggest opposition". "Believe big and pray bold". "I believe God is putting favor in my life today". Stacey loved life and always would try to see the positive and good in everyone. Stacey always had a bright, beautiful, friendly smile that would absolutely warm your heart. Stacey had a bubbly and vivacious personality that made everyone around her feel comfortable. Stacey also had good friends that she loved going to the movies and concerts with. Stacey would never forget any of her family or friends birthdays or anniversaries and you could always count on receiving a card from her to let you know that she was thinking about you on your special day. Stacey was always very thoughtful and kind. Stacey loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them on outings. Stacey loved music and enjoyed dancing, exercising and taking her beloved Chihuahua Betsy for walks. Stacey is survived by her father Tom, mother Pat, sister Kelly and husband Joe, brothers Terry and wife Sandy, Tony and wife Donna. Nephews Chris, Jacob, Tommy and wife Christie and children Stephanie and Mickey . Nieces Lauren, Samantha and husband Dan and children Dominick and Gabrielle. In addition, Stacey has many aunts, uncles and cousins from Tennessee that meant the world to her. She will be missed very, very much. We find comfort in knowing that she is now whole, no longer suffering or in pain. Stacey is our Guardian angel watching us from above, her spirit is all around us.
