Our beloved Sue LaNell Shook, affectionately known as “LaNell,” now rests in her Heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 22, 2023, at the age of 91 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 11, 1932, to parents: Irvin Lucas and Susie Shedd in Leesville, Texas. LaNell met and married the love of her life, Alvin Shook. The two met on a blind date, married 7 months later January 31, 1959, then shared a blissful marriage of 64 years together. They raised a family of five children. LaNell was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and devoted wife to her husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing flower arrangements, portrait puzzles, sewing, and painting crafts made by her husband. LaNell was very active in her church, taught Sunday School, and participated in many church activities. LaNell also loved animals and had a special affection to horses when she was younger. LaNell had a compassionate spirit. She passionately loved the Lord and her Family and touched many hearts throughout her life. Her presence will be sorrowfully missed.
