Teresa Lara Zimmerle was born August 30, 1930, in San Antonio, TX. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at the ripe old age of 94. She was the youngest of 3 and often doted on by her older siblings. At the age of 21, she met and married Felix Zimmerle a military man, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force. Over the course of their marriage, they traveled all over the world. Along the way, Teresa gave birth to three children, Linda, Blanca, and Roger. After Felix served 20 years in the Air Force, they wound up settling in San Antonio. Teresa had 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was an active member in the retirement communities of New Forest Haven, Landon Ridge, and Westmark Senior Living. After all her years of living, she laughed, loved, and cried with her entire family. She is survived by her daughter Blanca, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her 2 children, Linda and Roger. Teresa was not the traditional mother or grandmother who often gave life to the term “grumpy old lady.” Though we may have many fond memories we also have many less than great memories too. In fact, we often joked with her that it might be warm where she was going, and she often responded with a shrug of the shoulders or a giggle. Our only solace in this time of grief, is knowing she has been reunited with her husband, children, mother, father, and all her siblings. She was a flawed human being, like us all, but will be missed, nonetheless.
