On April 11, 2026; Theresa Butler peacefully went home to be with the Lord. Theresa was born on August 17, 1962, in Marlin, Texas to Mr. Jasper Scott Sr. and Mrs. Gloria J. Scott. She was the eighth of ten children born to this union. At a young age, her family relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where she was lovingly known for being a beautiful baby, and cherished by all.
Theresa graduated from Highlands High School in 1980, and married Jeffery Butler shortly after. She had a deep passion for art and gardening, and. she dedicated part of her career to working in home health, where she cared for others with compassion. Theresa was known for her kind and gentle spirit. Though she faced challenges in her life. She met them with strength and perseverance, never allowing her circumstances to define her heart. She rarely spoke harshly about anyone and carried herself with quiet grace. Through every season, she remained someone who would lend a helping hand and show compassion to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Gloria Scott: her sister, Catherine Scott; her brothers Jasper Jr, Eddie Joe, and Walter Mannie: along with her niece Roshawnda
Little.
She leaves to cherish her children, Mariah P. Scott and Zechariah I. Scott, both of San Antonio, Texas: her special friend and long-time companion Joel: her sisters Avaleen Scott-Little. Debra A. Cline (Herbert), and Maudesta Caleb (Harry) of Augusta, Georgia; her brothers Ronnie and Michael Scott: along with one aunt, one uncle, twelve nieces, nine nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
