Veronica V. Symes

veronica symes
Celebrating a Life Lived by Faith Veronica Viola Symes was born into a humble family with two loving parents; Aston George Symes, a tinsmith, and Doris Isobel Symes, a seamstress, of Kingston, Jamaica.Together, they had thirteen children. Of twelve surviving siblings, Veronica was the second eldest and the eldest daughter. Veronica began her Nursing career in the United Kingdom later becoming a Registered Nurse in the United States where she became a citizen after emigrating from Canada. She went on to receive her Bacherlor's Degree in Nursing from St. Joseph's College in Standish, Maine, after her retirement. She was married for 23 years to Eric Lloyd Bryan. Coming to know the Lord at an early age, her faith was the driving force throughout her life, raising her children using the word of God as her guide and encouraging us all to follow in Jesus' footsteps as she did. Her wish was that we don't mourn the loss of her physical presence with us, but that we remember that she is "absent from the body but present with the Lord." That this be her going home celebration! Celebrate her freedom from pain and immobility. No more sickness! No more pain! Freedom to walk and talk with Jesus! She is now at rest at home with our Lord! Veronica is survived by her siblings: George Stewart, Eric Percival, Aubrey Valentine, Dahlia June, Archibald Lester, Ashton Lloyd Augustus, Wendy Doreen Collis, and Alison Eileen. Preceding her onto glory were her parents, Aston George and Doris Isobel, and siblings Donald, Byron Sylvester, Patricia Harlene Grant, and Gladstone Roy. She is also survived by her two children and her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Her daughter, Dawn Marie Bryan and her children, Symone Alexandria, Terral Ian-Emanuel, and Julia-Jevalia Milagros-Viola, and her son Lloyd Aston Bryan and his wife LaFay, and children; Jason Lamar, Eric Brent, Erica Bridget, Lloyd Aston II, and Loraine Dezzarie. She will also be greatly missed by precious relatives, life long friends, a great host of cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous others who knew and cared for her in this life. "God never promised a life without pain, Laughter without tears, or sun without rain. But He did promise strength for the day, Comfort for the tears and light for the way, And for all who believe in His Son and his great gift of love, He rewards their faith with a home up above."
