Virgie Lee Rainey-Brooks was born in Guadalupe County, Texas to George W. Rainey and Pearl Walker, November 12, 1915.
She became a Christian at an early age and attended school in the Sweet Home Community. She was united in marriage to Ira Brooks Sr. July 12, 1934.
One child, Sylvester Brooks preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Floyd Robert Richardson, Herbert Leon Brooks, Vincent Raphael Brooks, Audrey Guilbeau-Calhoun and Ira Brooks, Jr; and her grandchildren, Linda, Sylvia, Ginger, Daryl, Lisa, Vincent ('Jaime'), Tuesday, Chris, Jeff, Adrian, Venessa, Kyle and Rebecca.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 10th from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at MeadowLawn Tribute Center, 5415 E. Houston St., San Antonio. Home Going Celebration, Monday, July 11th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sweet Home Baptist Church, 3340 Sweet Home Road, Seguin, Texas. Interment will follow in Robinson Cemetery, LaVernia, Texas.

I took care of you for 6 years when I was your home health care provider, I love you, and I will miss you so much I have thought of you often the stories you told me, the shopping we did we had so much fun to take care of. I will always remember your laughter. I wiped your tears for your children because you worried so much about them. Now you are with your husband and sylvester.
