Born in: Mobile, Alabama
Resided in: Montgomery, Alabama

Virginia “Gini” Richardson, 70, passed away March 1, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Mobile, Alabama to C.H. and Virginia (Liston) Richardson. Gini had a wonderful, loving spirit. She would often help her friends when they needed support. Gini was a lifelong member of Providence (formerly Memorial) Presbyterian Church. She served as a deacon, volunteered in many church endeavors, and for many years was in charge of the Wednesday Dinners that they would host. Virginia also became her mother’s primary caregiver through her battle with dementia. Although Virginia spent her life helping and caring for others, she always made the time to enjoy life. Gini was a free-spirit, always marching to the beat of her own drum. Gini will be dearly missed by all whose lives she impacted in some way.

Gini is preceded in death by her parents, C.H. and Virginia Richardson and siblings, Lynda R. Coats, Wiley C. Richardson and Rebecca Alison Richardson.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved sister, Judi R. Cannon; nieces and nephews, Josh Coats, Becky Coats, Brian Richardson, Sara Beasley and Dawn Russell; other extended family members and cherished friends.

  1. Judi,
I had no idea of your loss with Gini! I’m so sorry and know you have had your share of loss lately. I shall continue to hold you and Dawn in my prayers for comfort and peace! Bless you and may the Good Lord give you strength in these most difficult times. Gini was a “bright” light to many I’m sure as a sweet soul!

    love you,
    paul

    • Thank you so much, Paul. Yes, losing both Lynda and Gini within 2 1/2 weeks has been hard on all the family. You and Alice take care of each other. Love and blessings, Judi

  2. CandleImageJudi – our sincere condolences to you, Josh, and Becky. Gini was so spirited when she would interact at our church’s game night. She always had a smile and warm greeting when we would see her. Praying for God to grant you and your family peace and comfort.

  3. The entire Richardson family have always been faithful and loyal friends. Gini was always personable and kind with a special gift for taking care of others. Gini loved people and loved to be a part of animated conversation among friends; she loved to laugh. Gini often looked for ways of showing genuine thoughtfulness toward others. I know that many people have similar fond memories of many that kindnesses that Gini displayed. Praying for comfort, peace and strength for this family.
