Willie "Fella" "Bop" Mitchell

Willie Mitchell, affectionately known as “Fella” and “Bop,” entered into his heavenly home peacefully on April 30, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born December 26, 1928, to the late Bennie Mitchell and Laura Collins in Columbus, Texas.

At an early age, he began working various jobs until finding his niche as a landscaper.

Willie was baptized on December 9, 2021 by Rev. Lamell Taylor, Chaplain of Mission Trails Baptist Hospital.

Willie married the late Ruth Elizabeth Mitchell, in 1950 where they raised two daughters together.

Among Willie’s accomplishments, he enjoyed filling his free time with playing dominos. In addition, he was a loving father and grandfather. He found joy in spending quality time with all of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter: Belinda Wiley, his granddaughter: Sonjalynn Wiley, and all of his siblings.

Willie leaves to cherish: his daughter: Gail Y. Umblance, seven grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends all whom he loved dearly.
