Luella "Lue" Bell

Luella Marie Bell, age 83, passed away September 16, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born September 23, 1935 in Bryan, Texas, to Elliott and Ruby Myers. She attended and graduated from Kemp High School in her hometown. This is also where she met her husband, James Wesley Bell Sr. and have had 66 wonderful years together. Luella also sponsored the opening of The Brazos Valley African American Museum which had its grand opening in 2006. She loved cooking and baking, and was well know for her chocolate cake. She always dressed very well. Loved fashion, especially her church hats and had a wonderful talent for playing the piano. Luella also ran a home day care as her heart was in the taking care of children. Luella is preceded in death by her parents, Elliott and Ruby Myers; brothers and sisters, Murnell, Freddie, Mary-Catherine, Anita, Elliott, and Collie. She is survived by her husband, James Wesley Bell Sr.; children, Marilyn Bell White (Spike), James Wesley Bell Jr., Sharon Bell Moses (Fred), Steve Bell (Naomi), Stacy Bell (Roxane), and Tracy Mitchell; grandchildren, Brandon, Christina, Tiffany, Jamee, Jazzmyn, Elliott, Steve II, Nicholas, Marcus, Brittni, Lauren, Briana, Kourtney, and Kimmora; great grandchildren: Kyra, MaKayla, Serenity, Leia, Layliani, Naiyeli, Malik, Mekhi, Jahmari, Messiah, Kanan; and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
