Born in:

Resided in:

Barbara Thomas Bee was born on March 26, 1930, to the late Osa Thomas and Carrie Hysaw Thomas in San Antonio, Texas. She went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the age of 93.
She attended Cuney Elementary and Douglas Jr. High before the family moved to Los Angeles, California, where she graduated from David Starr Jordan High School in 1948.
Moving back to San Antonio, she married Wallace Bee, Sr., and four children were born to this union: Wallace, Jr., Margaret, Katherine, and Michael. As a young child, she was baptized by the Reverend G. F. C. Curry and attended the Friendship Baptist Church.
In 1958, Sister Thelma Robinson invited her to a revival held at the New Hope Baptist Church, and she became a member by Christian experience, had her children baptized, and would never even consider leaving. She took great pride in her church and every ministry New Hope offered: Sunday School, Mission, Usher, Nurses Aide, Kitchen, and Bible Study.
To improve her education, she attended night classes at St. Philips College, taking courses in Unit Management. She was employed by the Bexar County Hospital District, where she retired after 23 years of service.
Our Mother lived a long life, worked hard, and enjoyed herself. She was faithful to her belief in God. She loved and enjoyed her family, her friends, and most of all, her grandchildren and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Wallace Jr., granddaughter Courtney Robinson, sisters Dolores Gallerson and Charlene Campbell, her nieces Loretta Smith and Cherie Anders, and her nephew Willie Campbell.
She is survived by her children Margaret Thomas, Katherine Bee, and Michael (Theresa) Bee; grandchildren Dante Bee, Darryl (Chastity) Bee, Kevin (Kassia) Bee, Jessica Bee, Michael Bolton, and Melanie Bolton; great-grandchildren Chrystal Bee, Darinesha Bee, Anile Bee, Kevin II Bee, Kailey Bee, Madison Bee, Nicholas Bee and Natalie Tapia; great-great-grandchildren Chloe Downey and Skylar Downey; sister Olive Lyde; nieces Brenda Mitchell and Samone Hogg; nephews Kevin Davis, Christopher (Lisa) Hammonds, Aaron Hogg and Cameron Stamps, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mama, your Home going celebration was beautiful and you looked beautiful. Your great-grand daughters dressed you as you would have dressed yourself. Thank you for everything. I’m glad you are free from sickness and pain and resting in your Lord. I hope to see you there.
I worked with Ms. Bee several years at Bexar County Hospital District. She was wonderful coworker. I was sadden to hear that she had passed. To her family: You all are in my thoughts and prayers during your time of sorrow. May she rest in peace and may God bless her family. Love, Ima Jean Butler
