David "Dave" Preston Gafford

He will be missed.

Dave was the love of my life. After 36 years of marriage, I can truly say we had unconditional love for one another. There was nothing he would not do for me. I remember a time when I had foot surgery and getting around was difficult. I had asked if he would plant a large bag of tulip blubs for me, which was not his thing. He said “sure, I’ll do anything for you.” He got our wheel barrel, put me and the bag of tulips in and wheeled us to the spot where he planted them to my liking. We laughed about that many times. He always said “I’ll do anything for you Shirley” and he meant it until the day he passed. I will always miss you my love.

This does describe Uncle Dave spot on! Growing up he was the life of any family get together. Funny as all get out and could tell stories that would leave you with your mouth open only to want to slug him when he was done! The kidder of all kidders… If you ever met him, you would definitely remember him. He will be greatly missed.
