Joe Gilbert Castillo

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joe G Castillo, affectionately known by his grandchildren as PopC, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who was born on April 1, 1955, in Brownsville, Texas, and passed away on May 5, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.

Joe was a man defined by his kindness, intelligence, and deep devotion to his family. Known for his gentle spirit and unwavering support, he found his greatest joy in the presence of those he loved, especially his grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply time together, he treasured every moment spent with them.

A highly skilled and knowledgeable individual, he built a successful career as a computer maintenance expert, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike for his sharp mind and problem-solving abilities. Outside of work, he enjoyed watching sports, faithfully supporting his favorite teams and finding excitement in every game and match.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cirildo Castillo and Irene Garza; his beloved son, Gilbert Castillo Jr.; his brother, Francisco Castillo; his grandson, Jonathan Castillo; and his cherished fur companions, Chloe and Toby.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Diana G. Castillo; his daughter, Jennifer Castillo and her husband Ryanrey; his son, Juan Castillo and his wife Iris; and his beloved grandchildren, Julian G. Castillo, Kalina E. Castillo, George S. Castillo, Evangeline D. Castillo, Serenity Tutaan, and Gianna Tutaan.

His life was a testament to love, dedication, and family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
