Ruby Orise was born to Wash and Mae Ella Davis on September 22, 1933, in Burkville, Alabama. She received salvation from the Lord at an early age. After moving to San Antonio, Texas. She joined Gardendale Community Baptist Church where she was a faithful member and served as an usher for 50 years until her health began to decline. Ruby’s battle was concluded with a triumphal victory of peaceful rest, and she was called home to glory on May 03, 2026.
Ruby’s matrimonial journey included two paths, married first to Dan Anderson Sr., to this union seven children were born. She later married Charles L. Orise. Together they raised and enjoyed host of children and grandchildren.
Ruby’s employment throughout her life included working in the food service industry. She worked as a cook at Kelly’s Air Force Base and Luby’s Cafeteria. She later retired from food service department within East Central Independent School District.
Ruby was a very loving person and people always gravitated toward her warm spirit. Her love for family and cooking is what laid the foundation for close bonds and precious memories. She was often surrounded by her children, grandchildren and many other loved ones.
She was an active member within the Order of the Golden Circle Assembly #113, and the Order of the Eastern Stars of Texas Chapter #2.
Ruby was proceeded in death by her parents Wash and Mae Ella Davis; husband Charles Orise; brothers Wash Jr, McArthur, Edward Lee; sisters Mittie, Sarah, Nellie Mae, Minnie Lee, and Dorothy; daughter Delois Jones, stepdaughter Clarice Orise and sons Angelo Anderson and Jamaal Jones. Ruby deeply cherished her beloved Fur Baby CiCi whom also proceeded her in death.
Ruby leaves her cherished memories to her children, Dan Anderson (Brenda), David Anderson (Marie), Washington Anderson, Sanjanetta Wilcox (Larry), Barnetta Portis and Brandi Jones. Her extended family, CharlesEtta, Herbert (Janice), Odessa, Rochelle, and Chris Orise; 15 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.
