Shirley Jean Hultgren

Shirley Jean Hultgren, age 87, passed away on November 30, 2016 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Matherville, Illinois on the 4th of July, 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Gertrude Adams, husband of 61 years Robert K. Hultgren, son Tommy Hultgren, and brothers Bob Dean, Jim, and Duane Adams. She is survived by siblings Thomas and Kenneth Adams and Delores Douglas; children Bob Hultgren (wife Joyce), JoAnne Hultgren, Susan Reyes (husband Jesse), Michael Hultgren (wife Cheryl), and 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. She moved with her husband and growing family from Illinois to California, New Mexico, and Texas. While her husband was the traditional bread winner, she raised her 5 children and kept a household that was warm and nurturing. She will forever be loved by her children and remembered by friends and distant family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 3rd in the Chapel at Morningside Manor, 602 Babcock Road, at 10:00 AM.
