William Junior Smith

William Junior Smith (Bill), passed away at his home in San Antonio. He was born on July 1, 1942 in Hartville, Missouri to Hubert (Dick) and Ruth Smith of Houston, Missouri. Much of Bill's early life included extensive construction management projects. A home development based in Bonne Terre, Missouri, a refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, a coal gasification plant located in Secunda, South Africa and the centrifuge located on Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio are a few of the projects Bill was involved in. Over the years he was active in many groups including the EAA, NRA and ARRL. One of his favorite hobbies was participating in amateur radio with the call sign of WB5WIC. In 1984 he took over an aircraft tool calibration and repair company and expanded the business into what is now The Cal Lab. He operated this business actively until his passing. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Constance House Smith of Flat River, Missouri; son Jeffrey, daughters Lorana, Cayla and Marie, granddaughters, Lauren, Addison and Amanda, his sister Carol Vasseur and cousin Patricia Rodgers.

Connie, sorry to hear about Bill’s passing in the latest QST. I have lots of fond memories visiting with him and you when we both lived on Robin Forest. He was a good man and helped a lot of folks with electronics, including me.
Connie, I’m sorry that William has passed. I will never get the chance to meet him. But maybe you. My name is Timothy May. I was adopted in 1980 by the May family.(Laura and Doug) . I was put up for adoption by Marie Smith. From what o can find out its Marie Smith-Gonzalez now. And she has a daughter named Amanda.
